Criminally negligent management and poor maintenance
Former Tenant
Pros:
We had roof access
Cons:
Management (BlueSky Management) was negligent. I lived here for a year and we didn’t have heat or hot water for 8 days in the winter, electricity once went out for 4 days in the whole building, the washer dryer in the basement was constantly in need of cleaning, our floors warped and peeled. We were on the top floor and the ceiling leaked for months in the living room, bathroom, and bedroom without anybody fixing it or caring. It was only after 2 hurricanes that they eventually plastered it up, but didn’t do any permanent repairs. The next door neighbors had a huge chunk of their ceiling fall in. The hallways flooded with water from the roof and there was tons of water damage. Management never treated these issues with any urgency and constantly made excuses for these issues rather than fixing them. There was only 1 super for every single building BlueSky owned in Brooklyn so repairs were never prioritized for us, definitely because we are a low income building and they just don’t care. Elderly people and children lived here and they never cared if they became sick or were put in harm’s way. Packages were stolen all the time, too, and the dishwasher broke after not too much usage.
Advice to owner:
Why should we pay for the mortgage on your building when you don’t even keep up with basic maintenance? Surrender this building and stop being criminally negligent.

Avoid this Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The tenants in the building are nice and friendly.
Cons:
No heat ALL winter, constant leaks, power outages, roaches, terrible communication from management.
Advice to owner:
Stop trying to kick out long-term tenants by not making any repairs. Also don’t threaten to sue….
