Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews for buildings managed by Alex Gazivoda reveal significant management challenges. Tenants report poor cleanliness, persistent pest infestations, malfunctioning elevators, and inadequate heating, with prolonged unresolved issues that severely impact living conditions. Garbage management varies across properties, but overall responsiveness from the owner is frequently described as slow or indifferent. Neighborhood safety and noise concerns are also common, along with complaints about building security and neglect. While some amenities exist, such as elevators and laundry facilities, the general sentiment highlights neglect and a lack of care for tenants’ well-being, making the living experience frustrating and difficult for residents.

Reviews

Crappy building and crappy landlord

Pros

During Covid shutdown some of us helped the elderly with groceries and supplies.

Cons

Repairs non existent and if not terrible job, barely hot water and no heat during cold months. Elevator has been constantly breaking down for the last 8 years or so and most recently the last 9 weeks despite handicapped tenants and elderly tenants residing in the building. Tenants are disgusting, throwing trash in the stairwell and not picking up after their dogs in the stairwell or hallway. Neighbor smokes weed all day long so my apartment smells like weed despite my complaints. People hanging out on the roof and running around the building. Front door to enter building is always broken so anyone from the street comes in and just hangs out.

Advice to the owners

Give up the building! You don’t care about this building or your tenants!

Mostly quiet and clean, but severe roaches

Pros

Elevator, 24/7 laundry (electronic card)

Cons

Had 3 mice, roaches were insane during the night. Once, they set off the fire alarm from crawling inside. With the old owner, heat was generous. Illegal heat withholding with new owner, hot water issues as well.
