Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

David Kramer's buildings have garnered mixed feedback from tenants. Many residents appreciate the cleanliness, well-maintained amenities, and quiet apartments, highlighting positive neighbors and a strong sense of community. However, management responsiveness has been a significant concern, with several tenants expressing frustration over communication and oversight, especially in emergencies and maintenance issues. Some reviews depict severe dissatisfaction with specific buildings, citing pest problems, inadequate heating, and unresponsive management. Overall, while there are appealing aspects to living in Kramer's properties, potential renters should be aware of varying management quality and maintenance challenges across buildings.

Beautiful building, so-so management

Pros

Excellent apartments, well maintained with great appliances and amenities. Apartments are super quiet and well insulated. While the air conditioners are getting on in age and not as strong as they used to be, the building's energy rating is excellent and the windows block a ton of noise from Ocean Pkwy/Prospect Expwy. On-site building staff is top-notch and responsive--they care about the building and doing a great job. The building has been well maintained since opening and is kept super clean. Neighbors are friendly and have built a great community to live in. Never had a problem with package theft or getting guests access. I personally thought the neighborhood was a huge plus--a quiet little nook close to Prospect Park. But it's probably not for you if you're hoping to have hot clubs/bars/restaurants in spitting distance.

Cons

The management company has changed their strategy over the years--used to be communicative and friendly, now absent in emergencies and clearly just trying to turn over apartments to raise rent. They are trying to reduce or remove on-site building staff, who make the building as great as it is. A building of this caliber cannot be maintained without the staff.

Advice to the owners

Communicate with residents. Properly staff and care for the building.
