Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews highlight that buildings owned by Israel Gold vary in management quality. While some tenants appreciate the cleanliness and location convenience, others express dissatisfaction with maintenance neglect, security issues, and unresponsive management. Concerns about pests, outdated facilities, slow repairs, and unexpected rent increases have been raised. Tenants advise prompt maintenance responses, fair treatment of deposits, and improved communication. Despite mixed opinions, the general sentiment leans towards caution due to unresolved issues and questionable management practices.

Clean and chill

Pros

The super does a great job of maintaining the building. He comes a few times a week to do the trash and recycling, so it's not overflowing and it doesn't smell that much compared to other building I've walked by. He comes in and cleans pretty frequently and the outdoor space is well maintained. Very close to public transit, coffee shops, and grocery stores. Honestly really great location - even if it is kind of a busy street sometimes. The shared outdoor space is also well maintained, although I'm not sure many tenants use it.

Cons

There's only one washer/dryer for the whole building, which isn't an issue normally as it seems everyone in the building has a set schedule for washing/drying They did have a water heater burst a few months ago, which flooded the basement a bit, and no one came to check it out for a few days. It was a holiday weekend, but still, we need to access the basement for the washing machine. Some tenants are VERY loud when going and up and down the stairs. The shower drain gets pretty clogged, and you can't get a snake in there because of the type of drain cover they have. I use a plunger, but still annoying. Tiny kitchen - but I've see tinier

Advice to the owners

Quicker response to maintenance requests would be nice.
