Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for buildings managed by 85 FAIRVIEW DE LLC reveal significant management challenges. Residents frequently report unresponsiveness, with delayed or absent owner actions on maintenance, pest control, and security concerns. While some praise the attentiveness of individual superintendents, overall management is described as apathetic and neglectful, particularly regarding broken security cameras, package theft, and cleanliness issues. Pest infestations and noise disturbances are common, and garbage management often falls short. Despite decent water pressure and some unit amenities like washers, the buildings suffer from inadequate upkeep and tenant safety concerns. Prospective renters should expect to advocate persistently for their needs in these properties.

Finally moved out lol

Pros

Amazing super, loved the super. Super kind and attentive and always knew what was going on. He tried to help as much as he can. He's super responsive, within a day he's knocking at your door helping with whatever he can. He super hands on. There's another man who comes in to mop the floors who is also super friendly and diligent. Washer dryer in unit woo woo!

Cons

Management, I don't know who but the years I lived here it just got worse every year. Everyone has an attitude like it's an inconvenience to ask for assistance from your building management company. Israel is super helpful and kind but can be sloppy sometimes, forgetful. He means well so he deserves grace but all the other apathetic and unconcerned reps answering the phone were a big reason I wanted to move. Cameras are broken and have been for a while which is extremely scary, I don't think they have any intention on fixing it or protecting anyone who lives in this building. Everyone's packages in the building get stolen regularly and the building does not care. We all talked about it lol. They'll cover their a**see by saying they're working on it and it's something to do with a third party you have no idea about to shut you up but everyone complains about this. There's often homeless people sleeping in the foyer, worst case scenario they smell or it smells like crack :) it happens not as often as before but just a warning ... I'm a native New Yorker and I was offput by this so if this is upsetting to you and you have a hard time disassociating from unpleasant imagery ignore. The drug addict issue was also by the garbage which I mean is more a neighborhood issue than a building issue but again, native New Yorker. Not a huge shocker for me but may be for somebody who is not trying to see that. No buzzer. I love having everything linked to my phone but sometimes having just a normal way to get someone upstairs without making them call is nice. Not a con for me I love it but if you don't like loud music or a lot of energy, bit the best block for you. I think it's romantic and nostalgic but it may cause you to resent the neighborhood if you're an outsider just looking for cheaper rent in a Dominican neighborhood. If you don't like chasing management for absolutely everything don't move here, they are not concerned about tenants and if you are someone who needs a more caring and less apathetic approach to renting, do not move here because everything is on you to chase even if it's a follow up. The building needs more love, it's ugly af. The floor letters are falling off.
