Nice apartment, clean building inside. Outside is a chaotic mess.
Pros
The apartment is big, central heat and cooling works well, kitchen is mostly well-equipped. Good light through the apartment. Landlord is not the warmest person ever, but straightforward and responsive to issues if you can be composed and willing to negotiate sometimes.
Cons
The constant drug use on the front stoop of the building is awful. Having to step over unconscious people with the needle hanging off their arm as you go in or out the building. I had to force a completely unconscious person from the door so I could get out a couple times. This is technically not the building owner's responsibility, but this was a huge quality of life problem at the building. The M train makes a really loud screeching noise for about 15 seconds every time it rounds the bend approaching Myrtle Broadway. You can really hear it from the windows at the back side of the building. From the front you can hear music and train noise from the Myrtle-Broadway train station area. The windows are well insulated and stop most of the noise, but you can still hear it at all times of the day.
Advice to the owners
Add something to the front step that will prevent people from sitting/laying down on it to shoot up, smoke crack, etc.
