Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback on buildings managed by Elyahoo Nathan indicates mixed experiences with management responsiveness and maintenance. While some residents appreciate the convenient locations and generally responsive superintendents, many highlight persistent issues such as delayed repairs, especially with heating and infrastructure, and water interruptions. Cleanliness and garbage management vary, with hallways sometimes neglected and tenant behavior affecting waste control. Despite decent pest control and neighbor relations in some buildings, prolonged maintenance delays and subpar heating create discomfort. Rent prices are often considered high relative to condition and amenities. Overall, renters suggest improvements in timely repairs, better upkeep, and ensuring buildings meet code to enhance living conditions.

Overpriced Shoebox - you are paying for location

Pros

Good location by the train. Super is generally pretty responsive. Can’t really hear neighbors most of the time.

Cons

Extremely small. One tiny closet in the bedroom. No insulation - we had to get thermal curtains, hang blankets and thumbtack down the curtains to try to keep the cold air out in the winter and we still had to wear hoodies and blankets inside. Also apparently the majority of the time we lived here the building was not up to code so they were constantly sending people to do things to the unit. Oven has only half worked the year we have been here and the never came to being us a new stove knob to replace the one that was missing when we moved in. Zero frills you are only paying for the location, so if you don’t mind paying $3000 for a cold shoebox this is a great place.

Advice to the owners

Get your buildings up to code before renting them out. Also trying to charge $3k+ for this apartment is highway robbery.
