Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Marshall Aronow consistently highlights issues with pest control, particularly rat infestations and inadequate garbage management. Many renters criticize slow or insufficient responses from management regarding maintenance and security concerns, including outdated plumbing and frequent package theft. While some appreciate the quiet street location and occasional landlord responsiveness, dissatisfaction centers on lack of proper upkeep and tenant screening. Tenants note mixed neighbor experiences, with some describing disruptive behavior. Despite affordability and good location, management is often viewed as primarily profit-driven, with recommendations for improved security measures, pest eradication, and more proactive maintenance to enhance tenant living conditions.

Reviews

Former tenant·10 minutes ago

ideal location, okay building

Pros

charming exposed brick apartments on a very quiet, beautiful block. i would choose this apartment again and again just for the location

Cons

rat-infested trash covered courtyard. unresponsive super. all appliances/plumbing in the back building is extremely old and constantly breaking. steep stairs and no laundromat on this block

Former tenant·Over 2 years ago

Quiet, small building

Pros

Affordable, great location, responsive super

Cons

Landlord is in this for a cash grab and raises rent dramatically every renewal while doing nothing to properly upkeep the buildings or respond to tenant issues. Building security is nonexistent, they haven't even bothered to put proper locks on the front door. An exterminator is offered every month because the buildings are infested with mice and there are rats running rampant in the courtyard because the LL can't even be bothered to put in a proper dumpster. Unless you're desperate, find another place.
