Drastically overpriced for what you get
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighborhood is great. Tall ceilings, with relatively new appliances in my unit. Decent light and friendly neighbors. Very active street when there’s not a pandemic.
Cons:
Being directly above The Bitter End when there are shows going on is very, very unpleasant. You can hear the music on every floor. I think this should be reflected in the price, but it is not at all. The remodeling job on my unit is actively bad, with doors not fitting into door frames (trim fell off as a result and when I asked for it to be fixed I was blamed for breaking it...) and faulty drains, bathroom mirror fell off the wall and it took a month to get the dryer fixed after it stopped working. The heat cannot be altered and it is extremely hot in our apartment with all windows open in the winter and AC running, and the owner has not rectified the situation. The super said try tightening the radiator shutoff, and when we did, the next day water was spraying everywhere. I immediately undid it and then called him, and he said he had learned that the heat cannot be turned off otherwise it would spray water (but somehow failed to relay that to me...). One of a good number of unfortunate situations.
Advice to owner:
Be more attentive to your tenants! And the remodeling quality and noise levels must be better reflected in the price of the apartment.
