Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants renting from Frank Pecora report a mix of experiences across buildings. Positive aspects include clean and quiet buildings with good pest control, secure access, and pleasant neighbors. Some apartments offer excellent natural light and proximity to transit and parks. However, management struggles with noise issues, particularly from ground-floor businesses with live music, and inconsistent garbage management. Heating systems are often inefficient, causing high utility bills, and some buildings suffer from construction disruptions and pest infestations. While owner responsiveness varies, several renters suggest better noise control, improved heating, and prompt maintenance to enhance tenant satisfaction. Overall, management shows good attentiveness yet faces infrastructure and community challenges.

Great Building & Unit: But one Fatal Flaw

Pros

Great location between two subway lines, close to the park, and some bus lines. Only one neighbor per floor, and can’t really hear them. Can’t even hear upstairs or downstairs neighbors. No issues with cleanliness or pests.

Cons

The heating bill can be upwards of $600 in the winter if you don’t tape your windows shut. The heating units are horribly inefficient. The neighborhood also isn’t great.

Advice to the owners

Replace heating units and fix insulation on windows.
