Pretty decent apartments in the Bronx
Pros
Pre war, huge spaces, tall ceilings, close to public transit, good heat in the winter, most neighbors are quiet and respectful. The super and his team are friendly and do the best they can when repairs are needed. Building manager is responsive to questions and issues, but sometimes it will take time to get things done.
Cons
There’s one elevator in each building. So when your elevator goes down, you have to wait for it to get service. You will have to climb to the top! It could be a day, two days, or two months when the technicians are waiting for a part to fix it. There are signs that say “no smoking” but some neighbors smoke weed in the hallways and it smokes up the stairways and seeps in the cracks of your door. Some top floor residents complain of leaking ceilings when it rains.
