Review Summary for Richard Goettlich
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews of buildings managed by Richard Goettlich indicate significant management challenges. While the location is often praised and neighbors are generally polite and quiet, maintenance issues persist with delayed or neglected repairs, especially concerning heating and pest control. Tenants report unresponsive management and superintendents, leading to frustration when urgent repairs are needed. Cleanliness and garbage management receive mixed feedback, with some noting infrequent cleaning. Rent prices appear high relative to amenities and unit conditions. Overall, renters caution potential tenants about ongoing maintenance neglect and suggest management improve responsiveness and upkeep to enhance tenant satisfaction.

A lot of issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is great. Very close to the train
Neighbors are mostly quiet and polite
Rent hasn’t been raised much
Landlords were flexible during emergencies and covid
Cons:
Rent is high for almost no amenities.
Repairs will never get done until a new tenant comes in. This a major issue. Some repairs are very urgent and management essentially won’t pay for them.
Many units have had mold problems.
Advice to owner:
Pay for repairs for current tenants; clean the building regularly; have regular terminator visits

This is a scam
Former Tenant
Pros:
A roof over my head
Cons:
My particular unit has no street view, there are only 2 windows and they're in one of the bedrooms, with an airshaft view. Rent is $2850 for a tiny, lightless box. The building superintendent is impossible to reach and never shows up when he says he will, and when he does, he rarely addresses the issue at hand. Even for NYC this place is a scam.

Supervisor didn’t do his job.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice location, quiet
Cons:
The management is bad, they are not helpful with tenants when we need them to fix something it could take 6 months to be done.
