Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Norman Strulovitch reveal a mixed experience for tenants. While some appreciate the convenient locations and rent stabilization in select buildings, management responsiveness is frequently cited as slow or inadequate. Persistent issues include heating problems, occasional elevator outages, and pest control delays. Garbage management and cleanliness receive moderate praise, but noise levels in some locations detract from comfort. Several renters express frustration over rent increases and inflexible lease policies. Overall, tenants can expect well-located buildings with basic amenities but should be prepared for occasional maintenance delays and challenges with management communication.

Rent-stabilization & Location

Pros

Great proximity to the J/Z/M, as well as restaurants, bars, amenities. Rent-stabilization is critical, online NBM portal is easy to use.

Cons

Broadway is always difficult to live on due to noise/mess. The elevator stopped working for almost 3 months, compost is not a possibility when the garbage rooms can fester. Slow response to issues in the units, eventual help with mice but very delayed. Heat very poor in rooms.

Advice to the owners

Would hope to gather quicker & more effective responses when issues arise.

Evil property management

Pros

The apartment itself is cute.

Cons

In February 2022, my 2bed1bath apartment was 2200. In 2024 they raised it to 3000. Property management is impossible to work with, extremely unprofessional, uncaring, rude. Every year they increase the rent at least $400. Do NOT live here.

Advice to the owners

Get new property management.
