Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for buildings managed by Glen Brown consistently highlight serious issues with pest control, particularly persistent rodent and cockroach problems that management only minimally addresses. Many complain of poor garbage management and insufficient cleanliness, especially in common areas. Heating and hot water reliability is another frequent concern, with several reports of inadequate or intermittent service. Communication and responsiveness from management are widely criticized as slow or ineffective, exacerbating tenant frustration. Rent increases are seen as aggressive and sometimes unfair, further souring tenant relations. Overall, tenants experience significant maintenance and management shortcomings despite desirable locations and some renovated units.

Pests and property management

Pros

Location Renovated Convenience

Cons

There is a pest problem here and property mgmt does the bare minimum to address. They send out the pest control people to put down traps/poison and the issue is back a week later. The building access is also not great, it sucks trying to get in the building with your keys.

Advice to the owners

Beware of owner

Pros

I liked the building before it sold

Cons

Advertising illegal basement rooms as bedrooms When I lived in this building there was an issue with German roaches, extreme heat on the basement level rooms which were/are actually not legally able to be listed as bedrooms but are advertised as such. Also the living room window on the ground floor simply fell out. It was held in place with duct tape until it could be replaced which took some time, so so much for feeling safe. Paper thin walls Great location, but moved out because the owner at the time increased the rent by 55% as a scare tactic to get residents to move out without contestation.
