Fine if in a pinch

Pros

The apartment itself was pretty nice besides some random things, heating poles getting unbearably hot but thats to be expected, one off bug, random leaks, mold in bathroom. Rent is good and close to subways. I think the apartments can be as nice as you make them, if you take care of the unit, it isn't bad.

Cons

My real issues with this building are the bottom floor/trash/building itself. Everytime the trash is put out on 42nd street homeless people tear through it. The building does send someone to clean it which i appreciate but it causes tons of bugs/flies/horrible smell to go into the bottom floor when the door is propped open for the trash. Also having the trash on the bottom floor just sucks and makes the entire building smell. Neighbors dump trash everywhere on the bottom floor and its generally very dirty which causes bugs.

Advice to the owners

Keep the building cleaner and find more solutions for the trash. Better buildings attract better residents, I would absolutely not stay here for more than a year.

Great Starter Apartment

Pros

Well kept building with responsive management.

Cons

Location can be shady at times due to the homelessness towards the end of the block. Also area tends to lean towards a younger crowd, so you’ll hear the occasional house party.
