Good building, landlord lives here and takes good care of it
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent stabilized, landlady Mrs. Eng lives in the building. Neighbors are all respectable and not noisy. Well kept, garbage and recycling are well maintained by the landlady, no rats, cockroaches or pests. Some
Units are renovated.
Cons:
No elevator, small units but what can you do. No roof access, light is not the best as the building is nestled in between taller ones. No AC and the heaters are stream radiator that are quite finicky. Building is 100 years old so it has wear and tear issues from that. No doorbell or buzzer.
Advice to owner:
Installing a doorbell or buzzer would be great. Mrs. Eng is great and I hope she keeps the building maintained and affordable. Roof access or increasing ventilation in stair well or improving insulation of the building would help with the heating and cooling.
