Do not rent here - it's a nightmare property (Apt 1R)
Pros
1. The street & neighbourhood 2. The neighbours in the building 3. "Superficially" it's a newly renovated apartment
Cons
1. Illegally low heat with single pane makes the property impossible to live in during winter - property management will not replace doors and windows 2. Brown water that made us sick and general plumbing is old and broken - property management will not fixed it 3. A lot of pests (cockroaches, waterbugs etc) that come in through the bathrooms and living room areas 4. Property management are impossible to work with as all they want is money and will make false promises 5. Walls not soundproofed so you can hear everyone and everyone can hear you 6. The supers are really ineffective at their jobs which resulted in us spending thousands on the property to resolve issues that building management should have 7. Dishwasher broken down twice 8. Managing all the issues with this property became such a full time job that it took us away from our day jobs If you check HPD you will be able to verify my above statements on heat, water, pest and a problematic front door.
