The Roach Motel
Pros
This building was very close to the train, that was the only positive of living there.
Cons
The building is extremely neglected and has a terrible issue with roaches of all kinds - German, American, big, and small they’re all there. During my time living there I had a gas leak in my apartment due, numerous packages stolen due to no secure way to receive them, and I had to battle the management throughout all of this who were no help in attempting to remedy any of the issues.
Advice to the owners
Tear down the building because roaches have taken it over.
Run while you can - THIS BUILDING IS UNSAFE!
Pros
Proximity to the L train
Cons
Dirty building that's unsafe to live in. The 2nd floor tenant - units 2A - caused several disturbances while I lived there, he's mentally unstable and even came to my apartment door & threatened me with a knife with no cause. Management/Ownership did NOTHING to address this or make me feel safe. The building is used for some sort of low-income AIDS program with the exception of the 1F unit that they charge market rate. Run while you can, the heat is unbearable during the winter, the super is always drunk and never around. The place has a roach infestation, the man on the 2nd floor consistently throws food and dirty cat litter outside his window, which surely only encourages pests. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy live here, it's unsafe and scary to live in. RUN RUN RUN!
Advice to the owners
Try to find some sort of moral compass and follow it. You do less than the bare minimum and it impacts your tenants safety
