close to the J. It’s not a bad neighborhood. I guess when you live super close to the train station you’re more likely to see interesting characters every now and then especially it also being so close to the main road, broadway. I personally haven’t had any incidents that have felt threatening & i lived here for 2 years. probably the best price you’ll find for a 2 bed 2 bath with its size, W/D in unit, balcony and full sized kitchen separate from the living area. The size of the rooms are good for New York. Neighbors are chill i haven’t had any noise complaints. The walls are pretty solid. I dont hear much of what’s going on in other rooms
Cons
Every time it rained our ceiling would cave. We’ve dealt with floods and leaks and although management would fix it every time we complained it would still leak the next time it rained. During the rainier seasons we’d have to move our stuff out the way like every other week which was honestly annoying. When the J is not running it is a pretty big inconvenience. Packages theft was also an issue in the building at some point but it was from random people outside trying their luck with ringing the bell and being let in by tenants that don’t know any better for some reason.. The super is attentive but the owner of the property has selective hearing and it can be hard to communicate effectively with him because he only hears what he wants and ignores calls and text messages
Advice to the owners
You should invest in fixing the leak situation properly instead of doing patch work !
Pretty Good Place
Pros
- 2 bed 2 baths are a decent size for 2 people (i wish the rooms were a bit bigger) - very close to the subway - the price is decent - in unit laundry - responsive super - looks nice - great lighting Overall no complaints about the place, it's a decent apartment with more pros than cons
Cons
- Occasionally, i've had packages stolen by people in the neighborhood (3 packages in 2 years) - My unit on the 4th floor had a leaky ceiling that constantly needed repair - the 2 in 1 washer dryer isnt the best
