Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Richard Giancola highlights generally responsive and communicative management, especially noted in prompt repair responses and tenant engagement. Properties are often praised for quiet neighbors, good location, and well-maintained features like in-unit laundry and dishwashers. Cleanliness and garbage management are mostly positive, though some upkeep concerns appear, such as occasional delays in addressing maintenance requests and the need for cosmetic updates like painting. Heating systems are effective but can be difficult to regulate. Overall, tenants appreciate the landlord’s approachability and building charm but suggest increased attention to ongoing maintenance and interior care for enhanced living conditions.

Amazing building, responsive landlord

Pros

I barely had to contact the landlord because everything was in great condition. The few times I had to contact him, he answered within a few hours and someone was in the next day to fix it. Super nice guy and very communicative. Laundry in unit. Dishwasher. Great, quiet neighbors (or thick floors? never heard the people above me)

Cons

Heat is a bit too high in winter. No way to lower it unless you open the window. Manageable, but really hot if you sleep with the door closed.

Great Building and Unit

Pros

Classic brownstone. Quiet neighbors. Perfect location. Brand new kitchen with dishwasher. W/D in unit! Cats allowed.

Cons

Could be updated a bit.

Advice to the owners

Clean the common areas a bit more frequently.
