Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Moshe Rhine reveal a mixed tenant experience. While many appreciate the spacious apartments, good neighbors, and relatively quiet environment, there are recurring concerns about management responsiveness and building maintenance. Tenants praise the superintendents who maintain cleanliness and attend to emergencies, but some highlight delays and inadequacies in fixing issues, pest control challenges, and unaddressed repairs like broken windows and parking lot potholes. Notably, there was a disturbing delay in addressing a deceased tenant's unit cleanup. Suggestions include improving communication, hiring skilled maintenance staff, and investing more in property upkeep for a better tenant experience.

MANAGEMENT REFUSED TO CLEAN A DECEASED TENANT'S UNIT FOR ALMOST A FULL YEAR.

Pros

Pedro the super and his family do a great job keeping the place clean. The issue is not with them.

Cons

A woman died in unit 4U and management didn't want to pay to have the apartment deep cleaned for ALMOST ONE FULL CALENDAR YEAR. She died and wasn't found for 4 weeks, so she had reached advanced stages of decomposition. The 4th floor smelled like dead body this entire time. Flies were leaking into nearby units through the vent systems. Our unit also had mold around the windows and would leak during a heavy rain. Landlord REFUSED to fix it because it would require scaffolding, and they straight up said they didn't want to pay for it. Stay FAR AWAY from anything owned by Jonas Equities. Disgusting.

Advice to the owners

SPEND THE MONEY YOU STEAL FROM YOUR RENTERS AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR BUILDING. YOU'RE PATHETIC EXCUSES FOR LANDLORDS.

Overall great place to live

Pros

Large, sunny apartments. Clean building and grounds. 2 elevators. Good laundry facilities.

Cons

Supper's response for apartment issues is very spotty. I never had pest issues, but there was an infestation on one floor after a hoarder resident died in the apartment.

Advice to the owners

Retrofit to be AFA compliant. Please return the plants to the lobby.
