Ok first NYC apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
The unit was advertised as a 1 bedroom but it was definitely a studio converted. For ~300 square ft, it did have a lot of storage and closet space and many storage shelves in the bathroom. There was also an in unit washer/dryer which was a big bonus (especially during COVID). The bathroom was pretty upgraded as well. Had a mini dish washer. I had only signed an 11 month lease (they wouldn’t let me sign longer) and moved out after 10 months, was a pretty good tenant and received all of my security deposit back.
Cons:
Was on the 4th floor of a walk up so moving in and out and any bigger deliverers of furniture was not ideal. There was no counter space or storage in the kitchen. Building management was pretty slow to respond to anything and normally never had a solution when they did. Packages ALWAYS got stolen. I stopped ordering anything to my home after a one of a kind jacket got taken.
Advice to owner:
Put in a virtual doorman or security cameras. Theft was a huge problem.

Could be better, could be worse
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartment had skylights, quiet neighbors, and is on one of the best blocks in the upper east side. As a young 20 year old fresh out of college it was a decent first apartment!
Cons:
Westminster management does not have a good track record (has a whole episode about it on Netflix series Dirty Money), the ceiling leaked and they would plaster over it instead of fixing the issue. We did have a few roaches but in NYC you have to expect it.
