Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Reviews for buildings managed by Avraham Dishi consistently point to neglect and poor maintenance. Tenants frequently report issues such as faulty boilers, inadequate heating, persistent pest infestations, and unreliable hot water, leading to discomfort, especially for long-term and older residents. Garbage management and cleanliness are generally subpar, and common areas often remain uncleaned. While the neighborhood and respectful neighbors receive occasional praise, management is frequently described as unresponsive or indifferent, with concerns about unexpected rent increases and lack of transparency. Rent stabilization exists in some buildings but does not seem to translate into better upkeep or tenant support. Overall, expect minimal care from the landlord and significant maintenance challenges.

Major Boiler Issue

Pros

It is in a nice area in Washington Heights. I've lived here with my family for over 25 years.

Cons

There is only hot water for 1 hour or 2 hours a day or sometimes there is no hot water at all. The water is either very cold or somewhat cold. The boiler is constantly off or not working and the owner, landlord, and management don't care. This has been going on for almost 2 years. I spend everyday calling 311 and the violations pile on and nothing is never fixed. There are older people that live here and the property owner only cares about money.

Advice to the owners

Fix the boiler and care more about your residents.

Rent stabilized - bare minimum

Pros

Rent stabilized. Located near transit, allowed pet.

Cons

Super was never available. Tenants smoked cigarettes inside units always smelled like cigarettes. Cheaply maintained.
