Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback on buildings managed by STERLING EQUITIES PROPERTY MANAGEMENT shows a mix of well-maintained, clean properties with responsive management and some challenges. Positive aspects include rent-stabilized units, amenities like gyms, in-unit washers/dryers, and friendly neighbors. Several buildings benefit from proactive supers and good security measures. On the downside, tenants report noise issues due to thin walls and lively neighbors, occasional pest problems, and slow or insufficient responses to maintenance concerns, especially for larger repairs. Some renters highlight dissatisfaction with rising rents and management’s handling of building upkeep and amenities, suggesting improvements in pest control, soundproofing, and consistent maintenance attention to enhance tenant experience.

it's fine i guess. not really "luxury" as billed

Pros

rent stabilized, gym access, elevator. super is alright. resigning lease and paying rent is simple. you are largely unbothered by management. a man in a desk chair sleeps in the lobby at night to... deter villains?

Cons

issues go unaddressed. my window has leaked the entire time i've been here (so i have to assume it's been ongoing since before i got here) and nobody has fixed it despite coming out to look at it multiple times. i've put in a notice about silverfish sightings and no one's responded. the super will come out about simpler things, but not issues that require more than about 10 minutes' work. Walls are made out of tissue paper so you can hear your upstairs neighbors walk, talk, and shower, and sometimes i even hear the girl from a couple floors away practicing her singing.

Advice to the owners

Fix small problems before they become larger issues. And get some soundproofing.
