Over Priced and Under Managed
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is on a nice block in a safe part of town. The older neighbors that have been here for a long time are nice, friendly and respectful.
Cons:
The new younger tenants are noisy. It is not uncommon for people to pregame with loud music and noise before going out on the weekend.
The new management kicked out the live in super and contracted an independent company to supervise the building. Since then the common areas are rarely cleaned and the trash piles up. The tenants that have been here for years lament how the building has slowly gone "down the drain."
The apartments are overpriced for what you get- good location but no amenities i.e dishwasher, updated appliances or laundry. There are many apartments in the neighborhood that are cheaper, bigger, and in most cases on lower floors or have elevators (This building is a 7 floor walk up).
Overall since the new management took over and started to aggressively raise rents there has been greater and greater turnover and new tenants rarely stay more than a year.
The people that do stay, stay because many of the occupied apartments with long term tenants are rent controlled and they are paying 90's prices.
