Constant Elevator Issues

Pros

I love the aesthetic of this building and it's in a great location, surrounded by subways and Citi Bikes, but if you move into a unit on a high floor just be prepared to use a parachute when exiting the building from time to time due to the elevator issues.

Cons

Until this building fixes its elevators, no one should consider living here. If you are touring a unit and a broker tries to tell you that the elevator issue is "improving," unfortunately they are either misinformed or lying. The passenger elevators (PE7 & PE8) break down multiple times per week. I've missed flights trying to carry my luggage down 30+ flights of stairs. I've had countless takeout deliveries canceled or left in the lobby. The staff does their best to notify us asap when there is an outage so that residents can schedule their day accordingly, but when they break overnight, we rarely get notified. Ever come home after a fun night out to a 50-floor walk-up? If you want to know more, don't speak with building management as it's their job to sugarcoat the truth, just talk to any resident you run into in the lobby or a common area while touring the building and they'll confirm everything I've written above. Please don't lock yourself into a yearlong lease without knowing the facts.

Advice to the owners

I would say fix the elevators, but it's been 8 years and clearly they aren't interested in investing in new elevator shafts.
