Could be better
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is close to the East River Esplanade and about a 15 minute walk to Central Park. It is also close to Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. The walls are pretty much soundproof and I don't hear the neighbors at all. Hot water and heat work most of the time. Apartment was renovated and has washer/dryer, dishwasher and an outdoor space if you live in the first floor apartment.
Cons:
There are roaches and we have tried everything to get rid of them. We keep the apartment very clean, close drains, set traps, etc. and we still find them in the warmer months. Maintenance is responsive but at times unorganized or unprepared. The apartment feels like it's constantly falling apart. Something is always leaking or breaking. It was also absolutely filthy when we moved in.
Advice to owner:
Get rid of the pests. We know other apartments are also struggling with rodents and roaches.

Good building, terrible management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice neighbors, good area to live in.
Cons:
The building has a systematic pest control problem which they seem to refuse to do anything about except for calling the company to bring sticky traps when pests appear. For the amount that the market-rate apartments go by, it’s absolutely crazy. The management is also not responsive and often requires multiple emails and calls to act on issues.
Advice to owner:
The building needs to be disinfected starting with the basement. When redoing new apartments makes sure there aren’t holes left in the walls. And show you care for tenants.
