Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of buildings managed by Abe Friedman report a mix of positives and challenges. While many appreciate renovated apartments with features like central air, exposed brick, and roof access, recurring issues surface around inconsistent management responsiveness and communication. Problems noted include delayed or inadequate maintenance—especially heating, pest control, and laundry facilities—and occasional safety concerns like unsecured doors and problematic neighbors. Garbage management and cleanliness vary, with some praising efforts and others highlighting shortcomings. Despite these concerns, neighbors are commonly described as friendly and quiet. Rent increases and limited local amenities also draw some criticism. Overall, management would benefit from improving responsiveness and building upkeep to enhance tenant satisfaction.

Reviews

Former tenant·Over 2 years ago

Large but Mediocre

Pros

Renovated old building with central air (amazing!!). Exposed brick so you can be an iconic Brooklyn bitch. Quiet building and there’s roof access. Nice man cooks jerk chicken on the sidewalk by the building

Cons

The woman begging for money every time I leave the building… or maybe the landlord not coming to fix water bubbles in my ceiling or fire alarms that broke and we’re going off for 5 days straight in 15ft ceilings. Can’t decide

Advice to the owners

Pay attention to the phone calls and get a more attentive super!!

Good place but not amazing either

Pros

Nice size John the neighbor sells jerk chicken right outside Usable laundry room Central air is great Nice city view Lots of light especially on top floor Trains close by

Cons

A lot of roof leaking during the crazy rain storms There is not a ton to do in the area The grocery stores are expensive Awkward kitchen space The windows facing Manhattan get very windy and cold. I had literal ice in my windows all winter Management could be more responsive Raising rent

Advice to the owners

Put more maintenance into the actual building. The roof and the windows and things like that
