Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Ambrose Cheung reveals a mixed experience. While some appreciate responsive management and well-handled maintenance in select buildings, many express frustration with unclean conditions, poor garbage management, and pest issues. Complaints about heating problems, noisy environments near certain locations, and unreturned security deposits are common. Several tenants highlight neglectful superintendents and slow owner responses as major drawbacks. Suggestions include hiring more competent management and better communication with residents. Prospective renters should expect variability in management quality and be prepared for ongoing challenges, especially in buildings with reported maintenance and pest control deficiencies.

Former tenant·9 minutes ago

Unresponsive landlord, horrible super, rats, mice, hot water doesn't stay on

Pros

Location, location, location.

Cons

The landlord has to be chased down to get any repairs or work done. The super doesn't clean, especially the halls and stairs. The building has rats and mice because of this neglect. They are crappy at their job and do the bare minimum.

Advice to the owners

Listen to your tenants and get a super that cares about the building and does their job.

Don't live here - No hot water, dirty, horrible management

Pros

Nothing is good about this place except it being LES

Cons

- No hot water (lived here for only 29 days because of this) - Inefficent baseboard heating - High energy bills ($414 for 200 sq ft studio) - Building manager is a huge bully- his name is Brian Reilly - Security deposit was not returned despite the manager assuring me he'd process it “right away” once I vacated - Incompetent and unempathetic super team (when you call about not having hot water they just come over and argue with you) - Dirty building

Advice to the owners
