Amazing building and neighborhood - sad to leave
Pros
Loved living here - best apartment I’ve had in NYC and Clinton Hill is an awesome neighborhood. Lived here for 4 years and would have stayed longer if it weren’t for needing cheaper rent. No issues with pests (never had rodents, maybe saw 1 roach a year, had ants in the bedroom once in early spring but we got rid of them easily without pest control). Super is responsive and issues generally get taken care of quickly if you don’t have to deal with external contractors. W/D in unit makes things really convenient. If you have a car, street parking is generally not too bad. Great natural light as well and street is overall very quiet.
Cons
The main issue with the building is trash management. There’s a dedicated area that is always messy (though they say they clean it every day) and if you walk by or throw out your trash at night you will almost certainly see rats. I just threw my trash out during the day to avoid it. But again, never had any issues in our unit. Ventilation in the bathroom is poor as well as in the W/D closet and there were issues with mold. Fridge/freezer and oven are very small.
Advice to the owners
Garbage cans need to be completely replaced and the garbage area needs to be lined with chicken wire to prevent rats.

Cons
Flooding, delays in resolving appliance updates
