Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for buildings managed by Douglas Peterson reveal a mixed experience with notable variability across properties. Many appreciate the presence of attentive supers and decent heating, laundry facilities, and good water pressure in some buildings. However, consistent issues include poor management responsiveness, particularly from property managers who are often described as unresponsive, negligent, or slow to handle maintenance and lease renewals. Pest infestations, cleanliness, and garbage management appear as frequent problems in several buildings. Noise levels and neighbor conduct are mixed, with some buildings reporting disruptive environments. Rent and lease management practices have also drawn tenant criticism, including delayed renewals and aggressive rent increases. Overall, potential renters should expect inconsistent management quality with careful attention needed on responsiveness and maintenance follow-through.

Clean Predominantly Latino building

Pros

The Super lives in the building and available mostly always, he’s on top of cleanliness and making sure everything’s in order.

Cons

I had cockroach problem and fruit fly issue in the summer, although they did have pest control come one a month, I think it’s because of our next-door neighbors. It’s the heights so usually loud music in the buildings or outside in the summer but nothing unbearable. People tend to post outside.

Great Building But No Management

Pros

- Minimal Noise -Close to Trains - Great Neighbors

Cons

- Management is practically nonexistent, prepare for hot water to be minimal for months, buzzer to not work for months, issues in apartment to persist for months. Building has changed owners 3 times in the last 3 years. Current owners filed for bankruptcy.
