AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighborhood is amazing. The owner let us out of the lease early when we discovered toxic mold.
Cons:
Owners did not take a toxic mold problem seriously and it likely persists to this day. Also threatened us with responsibility for the full lease illegally (he had already re-rented the apartment) and for "damage" done to the building in our move-out (we were never provided with proof of said damage and we weren't given the opportunity to fix it ourselves as the lease stated) when we asked for some assistance with our moving costs. We ended up in mediation and nearly in court when that broke down.

On the street named after the 16th president
Former Tenant
Pros:
I loved that it was two floors, 4 units. This made it feel very personal. The landlord did respond very quickly and was very friendly
Cons:
No heads up when coming for maintenance. Since we’re in the middle of a pandemic, it would have been nice to have weekly cleanings for the building. There isn’t a keyhole for the mail person to put it in the box so it just gets thrown on a table. The walls are SO fucking thin. You can hear everything throughout the building. The electricity bill gets really high as well. During the winter it got as high as 400 dollars.
Advice to owner:
Get the mail situation together and maybe have the buzzer not so loud. I can hear when people enter and leave the building which wakes me up. send an email or something out before sending people here.
