Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for JAY WEISS-managed buildings reflects a mixed but generally positive experience. Tenants appreciate the prime locations and often commend the landlord’s responsiveness and friendly demeanor. However, typical issues include inconsistent heating and hot water, aging appliances, occasional noise—especially near busy streets or restaurants—and some maintenance concerns like tilted floors and outdated infrastructure. Garbage management and pest control receive varied ratings, with some buildings better maintained than others. While some tenants note cleanliness and noise challenges, many approve of the owner and recommend the buildings, valuing the affordability and convenience despite room for upgrades and improved maintenance responsiveness.

Great gem in prime Williamsburg

Pros

Location and proximity to G and L trains W/D in unit (barely functions) large master bedroom and living areas Only 2 apartments in this building Charm and above a restaurant with good food

Cons

Inconsistent heating in winter Inconsistent hot water in winter Washing machine is very old and needs a lot of care, often trips fusebox, does not dry clothes. Building management will never change appliances to keep rent low Street noise level on intersection Tilted floors which could collapse any moment One room is small with no closet No bike storage Fridge leaks water Oven doesn't have fine temperature control

Advice to the owners

Time to upgrade the appliances and ensure constant supply of hot water and heat through winter. Also, maybe renovate with better windows and fix the floor
