Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews for buildings managed by Jay Blausman reveal persistent issues with maintenance and responsiveness. Tenants often report poor management response to urgent repairs, pest infestations (notably rats and roaches), and frequent flooding, impacting living conditions negatively. Cleanliness and garbage management are inconsistent, with common areas sometimes in disrepair. Heating and water pressure vary, occasionally inadequate during colder months. While neighbors and location receive positive remarks, noise levels and pest control remain significant concerns. Some tenants appreciate amenities like rooftop access but caution about slow problem resolution. Overall, management appears disengaged, leading to tenant frustration and a call for improved care and timely communication.

One problem after another

Pros

Modern aesthetic and appliances

Cons

While it may look nice- this place is a hell hole. An entire apartment flooded during a snow storm because a pipe that should have been shut off for winter has burst. Took 5 hours for a plumber to arrive and management was non responsive. The common areas were infested with fruit flies all summer and got into the adjacent apartments. There are rats in the ceilings and walls, and routinely dead ones in the yard. The gym flooded and is a mold haven. Fire alarm in lobby goes off incessantly and in the middle of the night. They are so slow to fix any problem (which there are many) you will wish you never moved here.

Pros

really amazing neighbors. location.

Cons

Worst management I’ve ever dealt with in the city. Almost everyone I've talked to in the building has leaks. Some people have mentioned mushrooms and mold.

Advice to the owners

RESPOND. to anything. There is no disaster that will get management to respond. They will drag everything out to a painful timeline and then do anything other than take responsibility.
