Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews for buildings managed by John Massamillo reveal a mixed tenant experience. Some appreciate clean, well-located buildings with responsive management, especially in smaller properties offering rooftop access. However, issues arise in other buildings where tenants report poor garbage management, inadequate heating, water leaks, and unsealed windows. Several renters describe the landlord as unresponsive or even bullying, with persistent maintenance problems and pest concerns. Noise levels and neighbor relations vary widely. Overall, management responsiveness and property upkeep appear inconsistent across buildings, suggesting a need for improved communication, timely maintenance, and better tenant relations to enhance tenant satisfaction.

Landlord is a money hungry bully

Pros

There are cameras in the building. Not that they get checked.

Cons

The landlord is horrible. He harasses and bullies his tenants to get extra payments not just from the city but the tenant as well. The windows are not sealed properly so whatever the temperature is outside it’s worse inside. When it rains it leaks throughout the apartment. The landlord does not handle those issues he sends you to what should be the super who also does not help.

Easy and Comfortable

Pros

Small building, regularly cleaned, responsive and responsible management.

Cons

No space for bikes and can’t lock up our front. No master locks allowed in case of emergency either.
