Responsive management but some issues
Pros
Saw a couple of mice first few months of living there and building helped with pest control. Management is responsive and comes either same day or next day.
Cons
Saw multiple mice, had to get holes behind the fridge and oven sealed. Maintenance was careless with moving furniture and caused some damage. Major construction project was started by commercial tenant close to windows, but mangement never gave a heads up or negotiated on our behalf.
Advice to the owners
Listen to your tenants! If there is a problem they are consistently contacting you about, get to the source of it.
Overpriced and Underwhelming
Pros
It is very centrally located and has a lot of great bars and restaurants close by.
Cons
Our unit did not have heat for an entire winter, the landlord gave us a space heater and said he would "pay us back for the cost" on our utility bill. The building had bedbugs at one point which was not properly disclosed to us before moving in the apartment (we found out because of another tenant). Additionally, our first week living in the apartment, the key got stuck in the front door (which was an old lock and key), so we were locked out of the apartment for hours. The landlord refused to respond to us, so we were forced to call the locksmith who said the only option was to replace the lock and key for $700. The landlord refused to reimburse us for this expense, even though this was clearly the case of an old and faulty door. Overall, the landlord was totally unresponsive and unwilling to help fix the numerous issues that we had, which is why we decided to move.
