Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Sam Aron points to significant management challenges. Many renters report poor responsiveness and maintenance issues, including pest infestations and inadequate heating or hot water during winter. Cleanliness and garbage management vary, but problems with noise and disrespectful neighbors are common complaints. Buildings often appear neglected, with crumbling infrastructure and unmet housing code standards. While some locations offer good size and proximity to parks, the overall sentiment highlights dissatisfaction with landlord attentiveness and building upkeep. Prospective tenants should be cautious and aware these properties may face ongoing management and living condition concerns.

Avoid this building! This place may be rent stabilized but it's out of control!

Pros

Good location, large apartment and rent stabilized.

Cons

This building is a disaster, avoid at all costs. The pros do not outweigh the cons. The management is lazy, unresponsive and defensive when is comes to reporting problems. The property is falling apart and poorly maintained. It smells and paint is falling off the walls in the common areas. Basic NY housing codes are not even met. The entire building went without heat and hot water for 10 days in December of 2023 while it was below freezing outside. Major negligence on the part of the landlord. Also some tenants are extremely loud and disrespectful so good luck if you end up next to or below them. The building is old and the walls don't block anything. This place isn't worth it.
