Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants renting from Joseph Levin often report issues with cleanliness, pest infestations, and poor garbage management, particularly in older buildings. Heating and water pressure inconsistencies are common complaints, with some experiencing mold problems and inadequate repairs. While some residents appreciate the spaciousness and affordability, multiple reviews mention unresponsive or slow management, security concerns like stolen packages, and mismanaged common areas with loitering in lobbies. Positive notes include some rent-stabilized units and friendly neighbors in certain buildings, but overall, renters advise Joseph Levin to improve maintenance responsiveness, pest control, and building cleanliness to enhance tenant satisfaction.

Reviews

Former tenant·9 minutes ago

Pretty dirty, and there’s always people hanging out in the lobby

Pros

It’s cheap, and the apartments themselves aren’t completely awful.

Cons

It’s very dirty, they don’t clean anything ever. There’s also people that hang out in “lobby” area every single night, smoking and drinking. Idk why they don’t just hang out in their apartments? I also have seen a few mice and we just moved in not long ago.

Advice to the owners

Clean the building, and maybe hire professional painters bc the painting is awfully done in the apartments.
