Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant feedback for buildings managed by Michal Tylutki indicates a significant disparity between courteous frontline staff, such as doormen, and the overall management approach. While the doormen often receive praise, management is frequently criticized for poor responsiveness, lack of transparency, and high rent increases. Complaints include inadequate maintenance, pest issues, and a perceived lack of respect and fairness toward tenants. Residents also report problems with building upkeep and unprofessional conduct by some staff members, contributing to a generally uncomfortable living environment. Rent stabilization and fairness concerns further fuel tenant dissatisfaction, suggesting that management could improve communication, maintenance standards, and tenant relations.

Average for the Upper West Side

Pros

Location to great restaurants, subway, and busses is fantastic. Very convenient to Riverside Park as well.

Cons

Half of the building staff are nice, but the other half are rude, unfriendly, and loud. The super smokes outside of the building. One of the doormen doesn’t even open the door for us, and rarely gives us our packages. They say they’re dog friendly, but they once sent us a very rude and poorly written letter about peeing immediately outside the building (which apparently got sent to multiple people). It just felt unnecessarily mean in its tone. The management company is also sketchy and doesn’t reveal its address or an email address for residents, which doesn’t let us contact them for any concern that might fall outside of their limited website categories. Ultimately I felt very unwelcome here despite making friends with other residents and being a courteous neighbor/resident. There’s also a lot of construction noise both within the building and on the street.

Advice to the owners

A little courtesy will go a long way to your residents. Let’s build community instead of animosity.
