Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Buildings managed by Christopher Alker generally offer appealing amenities and convenient locations, with tenants often appreciating responsive superintendents and safety in the neighborhood. Many residents highlight well-maintained features such as gyms, laundry, and doorman services. However, some express concerns about pest issues like German roaches and noise problems, especially in units facing busy streets. Cleanliness can be inconsistent, and occasional management responsiveness varies across buildings. Tenants recommend improvements in outdoor space upkeep and clearer communication on shared resources. Overall, Christopher Alker's properties attract renters who value convenience and community but suggest more consistent maintenance and responsiveness for enhanced living experiences.

Pros

Many amenities to the building including laundry in unit, doorman, gym, storage box in basement, dishwasher, etc. Great super who took care of the building well and was responsive. Very safe area and close to multiple train lines. Great coffee shops and just blocks from a grocery store

Cons

Consistently had an issue with German Roaches, particularly during the summer months. However after we had a comprehensive spray, we haven't seen one since. The units also have very thin walls and can hear neighbors above and beside the unit. There were a lot of crazy fees moving in as it is a condo building, so unless you plan on staying long term, it's not worth it
