It's fine, maybe even good if you are 20-something

Pros

Convenient location since it is within 12 minute walk of the G, the J/M, and the L and there are laundromats, a big grocery store, a bakery and a few nice bars and restaurants nearby as well. The central heating/cooling is easy to use and works well.

Cons

Add 200 to 300$ to your rent to accurately calculate how much it will cost to live here--because electricity for at least three units in building was between 300 and 500 in winter/summer despite not using it much. Very confusing. No one is able to figure out what is driving the massive cost increases, but paying 400 this month for electricity for a smaller flat, one in which we keep the curtains closed and the temp at a reasonable rate is crazy. Also, it flooded in the winter so it smells even more than usual on the first floor. Besides that, there are weird holes in the hallways, the roof is nice but I hear the people on the fourth floor can hear every step so try not to use it at night. Lots of people in their 20's live in the building and that could be fun but it can also be annoying if you are looking for neighbors.

Advice to the owners

Fix the roof to improve sound isolation. Improve ventilation in stairwell so it doesn't smell. Figure out insulation or central air/heating to reduce costs for residents. Try to find more long term residents and fewer kids.

You Will Be Harassed and Robbed

Pros

Near the J, M, and L. Pretty close to the city overall, but considering the trains you'll live near, have fun getting anywhere on time.

Cons

When something falls apart, good luck getting it fixed. Went half a Winter waiting on the landlord to get it fixed. Also, no advertising of any room/space is always inaccurate and will tend to show other apartments in the building and even spaces that are not a part of the property. Don't know what that's about.

Advice to the owners

Care about your property. I understand you're too loaded to care but sending your young son to harass tenants for rent, during a pandemic, is not the move chief.
