Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews of buildings managed by David Friedman reveal a mixed experience. Some praise the cleanliness of certain buildings, good location, and friendly neighbors. However, consistent issues include poor management responsiveness, dirty common areas, noise problems from nearby event spaces, and pest concerns despite occasional pest control efforts. Laundry facilities tend to be limited or malfunctioning, and some renters report aggressive rent hikes and lack of proper heat distribution. Additionally, some tenants note discriminatory behavior and unresolved maintenance problems. Overall, management responsiveness and building upkeep appear inconsistent, suggesting that renters may face challenges in timely support and general maintenance under this landlord.

Former tenant·40 minutes ago

One of the worst blogs I’ve lived

Pros

There is a laundromat right around the corner of the building

Cons

The management was unresponsive when issues occur, need constant follow ups. While I was living there, there is an event space downstairs. Although not inside the building, the space shares walls with the building. They constantly host events with DJ and don’t care about resting hours at all. A few times the music was so loud the entire building started to vibrate

Advice to the owners

That apartment shouldn’t have been divided into a 4 bedroom unit. It was incredibly cramped and stuffy

Good but sometimes unresponsive management

Pros

Good building! Nice area and great tenants. Relatively clean.

Cons

Aggressive year over year rent hikes. Super was sometimes difficult to contact. Only two washer and dryers for the building (9 units) that do not work that great.

Advice to the owners

Stop raising the rent so much every year.
