Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Arik Lifshitz indicate a mixed experience among tenants. While many appreciate the responsive management and welcoming staff, particularly doormen like Jackie, issues such as rising rents, inadequate heating, and construction noise have been frequently mentioned. The cleanliness and garbage management are generally well-received, but concerns over noise levels and pest control persist. Tenants advise more transparent communication regarding ongoing construction and better insulation practices. Overall, while the community and building amenities are often highlighted as positives, the recurring maintenance and management issues could deter potential renters.

Best Apartment I’ve Lived In

Pros

Large living room space, large bathroom, gym downstairs, 3 elevator, Jacky (Door person) and her family are the best and super sweet, never had a package stolen in the 3 years I’ve lived here, super is very responsive M-F and for emergencies on weekends, repairs are handled quickly, I don’t hear my neighbors often, laundry is basement is cleaned regularly, never seen a bug, prices are much better than what you can get in Manhattan, management is responsive and quick to send renewed leases, they have a physical office in Manhattan if you need to speak to anyone, location is UNBEATABLE (5 min walk to EMR lines, 7 min to NW7, grocery stores, etc.), random but two entrances on opposite roads is also nice haha

Cons

Rent goes up every year. I have a good relationship with management and have been able to negotiate, but annoying that it always goes up. Game room downstairs dated and smells moldy, no wipes in gym, elevators break sometimes, rooftop unfinished, no windows in living room, funky kitchen haha was updated but has quickly things (counter top stove that isn’t functional), no dishwasher in older units, bedrooms do not have closets

Advice to the owners

Consider multiple year leases

Pros

Spacious. Older, but solid. Jackie at the front desk is just lovely. Renovated gym with free access. Lots of counter space. Sound insulation from other units.

Cons

No storage under bathroom sink. AC unit was kinda loud (window unit). Can hear sirens, especially when firetrucks get stuck on the back street.
