Not the best, not the worst

Pros

Younger neighbors, close to subway, out of the hustle and bustle, but still convenient

Cons

Management isn't the most responsive, packages open/stolen

Former tenant·2 months ago

Cockroaches, uncleanliness, unresponsive mgmt

Pros

It’s a fairly nice building in a good location and friendly neighbors

Cons

I had cockroaches throughout my entire lease, I complained many many times and could barely get a response so I had to resolve the issue on my own but that didn’t stop the roaches from eventually returning. My hot water broke and it took the management almost two weeks to get someone to come fix it. Upon move in there was mold and dirt and rips in the paint. The fireplace constantly has dirt falling from it because the flu was not closed when it was renovated. My microwave was broken for a month before they got a new one and then I had to wait even longer to have someone install it. The replacement microwave was pretty cheap and won’t run for more than about 2 minutes without blowing a fuse. The front door to the building was broken for months causing lots of theft. The AC wall unit that comes in the building spat out a bunch of black goo onto mine and my roommates beds. They had someone come look it who said that these units need to be cleaned regularly and it appears that they’ve never been cleaned since being installed. He said they were disgusting and had to discard of buckets worth of that black goo. When I moved in they forgot to mention that the utilities were under their other address so I had to set it up to the address listed on the building (as anyone would) and it resulted in me not having electricity when I moved in. When I called they said their other address for utilities is on grand street. Would’ve been useful information. The smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors and broken and pretty much just for show. I understand that these things happen in New York but at this price point it’s extremely disappointing.
