Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews of buildings managed by David Chen reflect a mixed management experience. While tenants appreciate the prime locations and reasonably priced rent, persistent pest problems, especially roaches and occasional rodent sightings, are a significant drawback. Cleanliness and garbage management vary, with some units noted as poorly maintained and garbage areas problematic. Heating and noise levels receive cold critiques, with thin walls and noisy surroundings commonly mentioned. Responsiveness from management is inconsistent, though some report helpful superintendents. Overall, tenants advise a stronger focus on pest control, building upkeep, and improved communication to enhance living conditions in these buildings.

Good location/bad pest problem

Pros

-location is amazing -rent is fairly reasonable

Cons

-rats in trash room to the point that you can’t get into the trash room -bad roach problem in the fall/winter (in unit & hallways) -have no control over my heat so it can get HOT -thin walls

Advice to the owners

Prioritize pest control

Pros

Building is in a good location, management will respond most of the time, hot water and heat are consistent, trash is always taken out when full, two laundry units downstairs, super is really nice

Cons

They provide pest control that sprays every month but it's for a reason (roaches sometimes), walls are kind of thin so you can hear neighbors/people talking and walking up and downstairs, street is a loud at night especially on weekends, packages have been stolen from time to time but not consistently
