A nice place to live

Pros

We've really liked living here, its on a pretty street thats pretty quiet. This is a coop with a mixture of owners and subleasers. They owners association takes very good care of the building and doesn't cheap out on maintenance on shared areas. We've never had any issues with the coop board in the several years we lived there. Each unit has its own owner who's responsible for repairs so your experience will vary there. We've found we don't really need to run the heat much. Super does a great job managing trash. There's a trashroom in the basement.

Cons

The walls are very thin here. Be prepared to know your neighbor well. There's only one washer/dryer in 425 so can sometimes be a hassle. When I subleased the apartment a few years ago, it required a thorough application with references and an interview. They require a board meeting to review, so be prepared for it to take awhile. All non-emergency repairs are up to you and your individual owner. I often was asked to book, manage, and pay for any repairs myself and get reimbursed.
