Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback on buildings managed by Dhiren Mehta reveals a mixed management performance. Positive remarks highlight responsive management, especially at 973 Columbus Avenue and 150 West 84 Street, where pest control and maintenance issues are addressed promptly. Some buildings are well-kept with good garbage management and quiet environments. However, there are serious concerns regarding heating quality, cleanliness, pest issues, and poor responsiveness at certain locations like 943 Columbus Avenue and 1111 Gerard Avenue. Noise insulation and outdated infrastructure also pose challenges. While some tenants appreciate efforts made, recurring problems with utilities and management responsiveness detract from the overall living experience.

Terrible Landlord and Superintendent

Pros

The building did not have any pests, which was really the only pro.

Cons

The apartments are cheaply made and maintained and overpriced. Nothing worked including the combo washer/dryer machine. The electric heating was incrediby weak and left me freezing in the winter. The windows were thin, which made for terrible weather and noise insulation. The super was nonresponsive, he had to be contacted multiple time to address any single issue, and he was rude when he did respond. All staff were rude.

Ok building, makes effort to manage issues

Pros

The landlord regularly sent an exterminator to manage pests, especially with the serious rat problem on the street due to a nearby building. The super was responsive and helpful.

Cons

There was a serious rat problem on the street and that made it uncomfortable to walk by at night. There is no laundry in the building and the laundromat at the end of the block doesn't have the greatest hours for someone who works full-time.
