Pros

Location, location, location.

Cons

Rat infestation, filthy common spaces, poor maintenance, unresponsive superintendent, horrible owners. The walls in the halls and stairways were never painted even once in the more than 20 years I lived there. Drug dealers in the building. Repairs are never made until it’s become a disaster, I.e. leaks are not fixed until the ceiling or floor collapses and apartments are flooded. That’s what it takes before they will make a repair. Bureaucratic management assures that you will never know who to contact about anything and no one in the bureaucracy will ever have to answer for anything. It’s really too bad because the apartments are spacious and it could be one of the best buildings in the neighborhood. Instead, it is the worst. Just take a peek through the window of the front door of the building and compare what you see with any other apartment building on the block.

Advice to the owners

Spend a lousy $1000 and paint the damn building. Or spend $50 and paint just the vestibule so the building doesn’t look like a crack den. Stop being so Goddamn cheap. I’ve been in dozens of buildings in Hell’s Kitchen and none are as bad as this one. You have no shame.
