Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Brian Garland reveals significant management challenges. Renters frequently cite poor owner responsiveness, often describing delays or lack of action on urgent issues like pest infestations and heating problems. Heating is inconsistent, with some apartments lacking proper radiators, causing discomfort in colder months. Cleanliness and garbage management are noted as subpar, with complaints about rodents and uncleaned hallways. While neighbors and neighborhood appeal are positives, tenants express frustration over steep rent hikes without corresponding improvements in maintenance or amenities. Overall, renters advise more attentive, timely management and infrastructure upgrades to improve living conditions.

Reviews

OK but definitely could be better

Pros

The super is pretty responsive but I have no idea who the landlord is, have never gotten a response from them.

Cons

They are a bit slow to respond to pest infestations (roaches) and some of the rooms don't have radiators, just a pipe, so it gets very cold in the winter.

good until it's not

Pros

- neighbors are nice - quiet street and good bars / restaurants nearby - super is friendly and pretty responsive - good size / layout of apartment

Cons

We had bedbugs and it took 3 weeks for them to send someone to fumigate only after I told management that I called 311 on them for lack of action. This is probably the worst offense!! The heat is pretty fickle - some days it gets so hot, I have to turn the AC on in winter and some days it feels like it's not even on. The building could have better upkeep in general. And with all this, rent continues to be raised every year. Ridiculous.
