Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews for buildings managed by Scott Goldenberg reveal a mixed management experience. Many appreciate responsive supers, friendly doormen, and generally quiet, safe neighborhoods with spacious units and good heating. However, several buildings suffer from pest infestations, especially cockroaches and occasional mice, alongside issues like poor garbage management and outdated infrastructure. Complaints include difficulty contacting management, slow or unhelpful responses, and ongoing maintenance challenges, notably with heating and hot water. Theft of packages and occasional noise disruptions are recurring concerns. While some tenants praise the rent-stabilized, well-located buildings and helpful staff, others warn of unresponsiveness and subpar cleanup efforts.

Reviews

Lovely UWS apt

Pros

A nice neighborhood, responsive super, no major problems, large units

Cons

72nd st location is the downside because it is on a more commercial st you get lots of late night noise with garbage trucks, construction, subway commuters…

Terrible management with insane issues with bed bugs

Pros

wonderful neighbors that band together

Cons

multiple units got bed bugs and management did a horrible job responding and it spread throughout the building; management was also mean and rude to tenants, it was a battle to recoup money spent on dealing with bed bugs and barely got any rent rebates; also periods of time when the hot water was brown and it took them multiple weeks to respond and it was due to an issue with the boiler; they also lie to tenants about ongoing issues; they regularly have issues with mice and cockroaches

Advice to the owners

start spending money to deal with issues, treat tenants with some level of respect
